Stairlifts represent a significant financial investment. For many people, this can be a real barrier to making a purchase that could significantly improve their quality of life.
Reconditioned stairlifts offer savings over new versions but they can still be expensive and as such, beyond the reach the of many.
Rent A Viable Alternative
Stair lift rental has emerged as a viable alternative to purchasing and even offers a few, distinct advantages.
There are no draw-backs in terms of the technology available to you as a renter. You can rent both straight and curved stairlifts and even choose from the latest models (depending who you rent with).
At UK Stairlifts we offer the Stannah rental package. It is a comprehensive rental program and we will draw on it to highlight some of the advantages of stairlift rental.
The first and probably most crucial advantage for most people, is cost. Renting does not not cost you as much money upfront. To use Stannah as an example, you pay a deposit (which varies depending on the lift you pick) which covers the installation and future removal of the lift and the administration of the agreement.
You then pay a monthly rental fee, again based on the type of stairlift you have chosen. This arrangement is ideal for people who need a stairlift over a short period or who cannot raise the money to purchase outright.
Service & Support
Another major advantage of rental is service and support. If you rent from Stannah for example, the stairlift is covered by their warranty program for the life of the rental. If you experience problems at any time, you are completely covered.
This level of protection can off-set the long-term cost of a rental. If you have bought new, when your initial warranty expires you are liable for any cost associated with the stairlifts servicing and repair. You can purchase extended warranties but with a rental, there is no need.
Finally, rental offers flexibility. The Stannah program does not require you to sign up for a fixed term and you only pay a month’s rent in advance. If you need to cancel, you can do so at any time.
